Beautiful, comfortable home with a feeling of nostalgia. Considerate hosts. Large yard with gardens, dog friendly.

Breakfast was not provided, although the Booking.com listing clearly states that a full breakfast is provided. Apparently, the innkeeper has tried to correct this, but Booking.com continues to provide wrong information. They claim that the confirmation I received says "no meal plan" but I never received that and in any case, that would have come AFTER my non-refundable payment was made. June was very nice about this an upgraded us to a nicer room to make up for it. At this point, my argument is with Booking.com.

The time period of the house uniqueness and the grounds were beautiful. It was what I was expecting for an inn that was 200 years old. The Black Mountain town was great, shopping & food. I'd go again to go to Goldfinch & Bush Farmhouse restaurant. We went to a concert at a local venue. The Inn was perfectly in the middle from the venue & town.

Friendly staff; cleanliness. These essentials are wonderful, but guests should know that the property is not as advertised. Most importantly, there was NO AIR CONDITIONING -- IN JULY.

It is a beautiful old home on a great piece of property..a couple things to note: if you get a room w/a bathtub-there's no shower. + our bed was like a hammock..June is very hospitable.Only Coffee in the morning-no breakfast.

The shade on the bathroom window did not stay down. There seemed to be the slight smell of cigarette smoke throughout the house, but I saw no ash trays or any signs of cigarettes, so perhaps this was just the smell of a house of a certain age? Anyway, I was fascinated by the house!

The Booking.com advertised a full breakfast was included with the stay. Bed and BREAKFAST, however, there was only coffee served. Host stated this was a Booking.com error. Another B and B just down the street was at the same price but we choose this one for the uniqueness of the home. Should not be advertised as a B & B! Just a Bed....
